Procedures and specific landlording strategies will change over time. In addition, you will continue to discover new strategies and procedures that are more effective under different rental circumstances. However after owning and managing rentals for 35+ years, I have come to realize that it is important to my business that all the procedures and strategies I implement be built upon core business concepts that are constant. Identifying what those core concepts are makes it easier for me to quickly recognize news strategies that will work best for me and my rentals and also filter out many strategies that I may be tempted to implement but are contrary to what is best for my business in the long run. Also, by knowing what are my core business concepts, it helps me stay focused and allows me to be far more effective in communicating with any others assisting me in my business, so that we work together with the same mindset toward goals in our rental business and as we relate to each other, our rental customers, contractors and all others affecting our ultimate success.
